At present, the external materials of the data lines on the market are mainly divided into the following types:
Outer quilt: The outermost layer of the data line is used to wrap the internal wires without damage.PVC(Polyvinyl Chloride)
Polyvinyl chloride, one of the world's largest producers of universal plastics
PVC has good thermoplasticity and mechanical properties and is inexpensive, and is a commonly used material for electronic products such as data lines. The outer surface of the PVC is smooth but the hand feels relatively stiff and the durability is average.
It is worth noting that the production and use of PVC will cause a certain degree of pollution to the natural environment.
TPE(Thermoplastic Elastomer)
A thermoplastic elastomer material
TPE, with good flexibility and exquisite feel, has gradually become the mainstream material for data lines. While continuing the PVC thermoplasticity, TPE is also characterized by its stable nature, non-toxic safety, and can be recycled 100%. It is a relatively environmentally friendly material.
However, the life of the TPE data line is not satisfactory, and yellowing and blasting may occur in daily use.
Weave
synthetic fiber
Because TPE will still be damaged in daily use, the outer surface of the braid is gradually becoming the mainstream material of the data line because of its good wear resistance and good folding resistance. Weaving quilts can be mainly divided into the following categories:
· • Nylon fiber: Excellent nylon braided wire with good wear resistance and external tensile strength. At the same time, because the wire has a certain rigidity, it is not easy to entangle and knot!
· • Cloth: mild hand feeling, but poor wear resistance and stain resistance;
• KEVLAR: Kevlar is an aramid fiber material developed by DuPont. Some high-end data lines use this "super fiber" used in the military field as a cover material.
Kevlar laminated sheet and composite armor made of steel and aluminum plate have not only been widely used in tanks, armored vehicles, body armor, but also used in nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and guided missile destroyers, which have greatly improved the protective performance and maneuverability of these weapons. .
Other outer covering materials
• artificial leather (PU) : excellent handle and appearance;
• metal: not very common material, but has good durability;
